Apollo: An Italian-designed Regulator Watch inspired by Space

We are nothing without Space and Time, everything will cease to exist. The Apollo watch was conceived by a team of Italian designers inspired by the enigma of Space and Time, and their love of art and fascination of precision instruments.

The Apollo watch features four regulator watch models coming in two editions, Limited Editions and Kickstarter Editions:

Apollo

The regulator watches are inspired by the planets and their satellites in our solar system: Eclipse, Full Moon, Uranus and Neptune. Only 999 pieces for the Limited Edition Eclipse and Full Moon.

The Apollo watch is a stainless steel timepiece featuring a brilliant multi-layered dial that pops right out thanks to the domed hesalite crystal. The dial actually maps out the northern sky on its background.

Looking refined and distinguished, the dial presents time with great clarity. Its centre minute hand is paired with two sub-dials, one for the hour hand and another for the second hand. Quietly hidden away is a unique date window at the two o’clock position –  for a clean and non-obstructive view of the dial.

The Eclipse is a little more unique with its black PVD case and yellow star markers at the 12 o’clock position and on the hour sub-dial.

On its side, the Apollo presents an exceptionally pleasing planetarium shape with the same domed hesalite crystal for its caseback. The crown is also shaped like a dome for a consistent appearance – more of an aesthetic appeal than a practical one. The case is aptly sized at 38 mm wide with a thickness of 12.75 mm, making the Apollo a pleasant watch on the wrist.

Powering the Apollo, we are looking at a 21 jewels Japanese-made Miyota 8219 movement featuring 40 hours of power reserve and an accuracy of -20 to+40 seconds per day. This makes it the perfect weekday watch; take it off on Friday and strap it on on Monday without adjustments!

The Apollo watch will come with a genuine leather NATO strap in three colour options: Tan, Brown or Black. Alternatively, backers can choose to add between US$25-35 for an additional genuine leather NASA, Saffiano or Racing strap. Together with the case and dial design, the Apollo is meant to be a statement timepiece that exudes a timeless style.
